It is hard to measure how much force authors of crime stories, this time: Jürgen Werner, have to put into the development of complicated misdeeds. We are talking about a special sub-genre, the crimes of infamous insane people (ViGk). The perpetrators, the iGk, do not shy away from costs or efforts to bring their hate object - usually a detective at the crime scene - into a predicament, in which the sacrifice of secondary characters plays an equally important role as insane surveillance techniques: the iGk knows everything , sees everything and he has top contacts.

"Crime scene: Monster" (ARD): Crimes of infamous insane people

He looks for his allies in the darkest of milieus, gladly with people who have an open account and who can take advantage of the partial intelligence and at least criminal energy that the iGk brings with them. The new Dortmund crime scene "Monster", on the one hand hard, on the other hand discreetly staged by Torsten C. Fischer, offers a particularly dark variant of all of this. The title scoundrel, as you can guess, is Markus Graf, the commissioner Faber, Jörg Hartmann, who has been challenging again and again since 2014 - both bad acquaintances are much older - and are now aiming for a highly dramatic shootout.

As is so often the case, the most gripping minutes of the film are those in which none of it can be predicted and only the tip of a ViGk appears in front of us. The small family of new investigator Pawlak, prone to displeasure, Rick Okon, licks ice and is in a good mood, which rarely bodes well in crime films. A serious child is cut in between to make you tremble even more. But now Papa has to go quickly to the scene of the crime, where the police are at a loss in front of a bloodstained woman and her stabbed victim.

"Crime scene: Monster" (ARD): thought around the corner

The woman only wants to speak to Faber. We know the game, but now Pawlak's daughter suddenly calls that there is a bad man in the house, and when Pawlak and the extremely concentrated Dalay, Aylin Tezel, arrive, they find Ms. Pawlak overdosed. But the child has disappeared. Faber sees him on a surveillance camera even before Markus Graf's plan is gradually revealed - and also repeatedly hidden from viewers, because the iGk think too often around the corner for our own - he would have been within reach for a while. Graf, Florian Bartholomäi, however, is hiding behind the police hat and the beard behind which some of the boys are currently hiding. No fund is closed to the iGk, and there is no shortage of time to prepare.

The murderess, who has not left the scene, is played by Luisa-Celine Gaffron with stoic intensity. The fact that she stumbles from one victim role to the next as a tool of the iGk is hardly explained. It is also thanks to Faber that the usual cat-and-mouse games get so much frenzy when questioned this time. The cool Anna Schudt as Bönisch completes the very clarified, yet absurdly credible Dortmund team.

(ARD): Organized child abuse

In the back and soon in the foreground of the plot is about organized child abuse. It is so bitter and is said so bitterly - the horror of the police is a reflection of the horror not shown - that bumpy logic becomes unimportant. "Like everyone else, they try to suppress the fact that such a thing actually exists," it was said towards the end and does not catch us cold, but it does catch us.

"Crime scene: Monster", ARD, Sun., 8.15 p.m.

The first crime scene from 2020 was quite confusing. Improvisation, confusion and psychological play in the "Tatort Das Team" (ARD).

And another criticism from the crime scene "Unklare Lage" (ARD): An impressive Munich crime scene shows a young assassin and a city in a state of emergency.
