The US Senate Supreme Court approved Thursday's legislation that would significantly limit the ability of US President Donald Trump to launch a military operation against Iran.
The bill, passed with the help of a number of Republican party members, with a 51-to-44 majority, would require the president to seek special approval from Congress for military action against an Iranian state or declare war on a congressional vote.
President Trump has vowed to exercise his veto right against the legislative move, a move that would require a two-thirds majority of the House and Senate to overturn the presidential veto.
