LE FIGARO. - How did you live your years in the Obama team, a realistic president trying to limit the role of the United States abroad, when you advocated an interventionist approach?

Samantha POWER. - Obama was not at all to restrict the role of the United States! He thought that military force was being used too quickly, and I agreed. We both opposed the war in Iraq. Many key figures in his administration supported this war, such as Robert Gates and Hillary Clinton. But a handful of younger advisers supported his vision.
