French Health Minister Agnes Bouzan today announced the death of a Coronavirus patient who has been treating a hospital in France since late last month.
"The deceased patient is an eighty-year-old Chinese tourist," she said, noting that this is the first death case outside Asia and the first in Europe so far since the disease spread globally.
It is noteworthy that so far only three deaths outside China have been recorded in the Philippines, Hong Kong and Japan with this virus.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Wei made it clear today that the sudden outbreak of this virus is a challenge for China and the world in general, noting the decisive measures and great efforts made by Beijing in confronting the virus, which brought the epidemic under control.
