Palestinian Authority Concerns tourists' trips to Jala House from Greece infect four workers at a local hotel • Ramallah estimates: The virus has already reached Gaza

  • Palestinian police near the hotel where there was a concern about being infected with Corona

It was a matter of time, but it seems that the Corona virus has also reached the Palestinian Authority. According to Palestinian reports (Thursday), four patients were discovered at a hotel in Beit Jala, near Bethlehem. The source of the infection is apparently Greek tourists who infect four workers at the hotel.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health responded quickly and decided to ban tourists from entering the Palestinian Authority. This is a move with many economic implications to the Authority, as there are sites such as the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem that attract many pilgrims. At the same time, the Palestinian Ministry of Health has decided to turn the Angel Hotel in Beit Jala into a closure center, as well as an addiction center in Bethlehem to locate suspects in Corona.

On the contrary, all educational institutions, mosques and churches in Bethlehem were closed for 14 days. "We have identified several suspects infected with the Corona virus," the Ramallah Health Ministry said. "We do all the necessary examinations and we will inform the public when we have all the information. We urge the public to stay calm."

A senior Palestinian official told Israel Today: "The checks of hotel workers and other Palestinians staying near the Greek tourist group have been sent to Israel and we are awaiting the results and accordingly we will make decisions. There is no official confirmation yet on Corona patients in the Palestinian Authority, but in light of the increase in hospital numbers in Israel, we are preparing accordingly. "

According to the Palestinian official, government health officials in Ramallah have no reliable and accurate information about the state of Hamas-controlled Corona in the Gaza Strip.

"Probably Hamas Health Ministry has not yet located the carriers and patients in the Gaza Strip. It is precisely the closure on the Gaza Strip that helps monitor the plague in the Gaza Strip, and if there are cases of corona there are isolated cases that may cause a rapid outbreak if they are not located, will be isolated and treated accordingly, ”the source said.
