56 scouts from the base of the base donated their hair to cancer patients last week, initiated by a Kashrut detachment headquarters in the Lavi Baka Battalion and in conjunction with the Zichron Menachem organization. This is one of the most impressive hair-gathering days in the IDF.

"I saw an article about the organization on TV and realized that this was a great opportunity to contribute," says Initiative Capt. Rotem Zohar. She spoke to her subordinates and explained the importance of the initiative to them.

When donation day arrived, last Tuesday, Zohar was still skeptical about the extent of the impact. "I was under pressure. I thought not even 20 soldiers would arrive - the minimum required." To the base in the south of the country volunteered a book from Eilat, which helped to cut and collect hair. "I couldn't believe we would reach 56 braids, and when we did that, we - the soldiers - felt a great sense of satisfaction." As part of the IDF spirit, there was the first glow that contributed to the hair, and then "one saw the other and continued after it."

Zohar is now aiming for the next challenge, and this time also to join the fighters from the various companies, and not just the fighters. "I want to prove that everyone is capable of contributing. We are going to do everything to be the best fighters, but there are things that are one level beyond the military," she says. "Everyone who serves in the IDF is first and foremost a human being. The combination of the People's Army and donation and other assistance make us better people - even after service. Surely better people will be better fighters as well. "
