However, the suspect escaped. The off-duty police officers involved suffered minor injuries and were not required to be sent to hospital after treatment on the spot. According to MTR, the petrol bomb was thrown inside the depot, but no facilities were damaged and services were not affected; the police classified the case as "arson".
The site is near MTR Tsuen Wan Depot on Luquan New Village, Tongquan Road. At about 10 o'clock last night, a passerby found a suspicious man who threw a petrol bomb at a depot in a park on the site. After the suspect was found, he was entangled with the passerby and escaped successfully. After the incident, the ground floor of the corridor between the MTR Depot and Lvyang Xincun left traces of broken glass and blackened.
It is understood that the passer-by of the incident was an off-duty male auxiliary police officer. At the time of the incident, he immediately stopped and chased the suspect. The two sides collided and entangled. The suspect escaped, and the off-duty police officer and his feet were bruised during chaos. No need to be sent to hospital after treatment on the spot. The police classified the case as "arson" and the Tsuen Wan Police District Criminal Investigation Team is looking for a man in the black shirt who is between the ages of 20 and 25.
A MTR spokesman said that at about 10.45 pm last night, the vehicle control center received a police notification that someone dropped a petrol bomb on the MTR Tsuen Wan Depot and the staff rushed to the scene to handle it. After the police and firefighters arrived at the scene, they initially confirmed that the petrol bomb was dropped in the depot, but no facilities were damaged. During the period, the train service on the Tsuen Wan Line was not affected. The incident has been referred to the police for follow-up.
