Tried in immediate appearance Friday in Grenoble for " extortion with violence ", punishable by 10 years of imprisonment, the man saw his trial postponed to April 22, said the prosecutor of the Republic of Grenoble. Until then, he will sleep in prison and a psychiatric assessment will have to be carried out.

The expertise will consist of determining what prompted this inhabitant with a clean criminal record to take a rifle three times and to commit these robberies in his own commune. On January 20, he entered the premises of the “ Childhood and Sharing ” association and received 300 euros in cash. He starts again on February 18 in the tobacconist, coming out with 300 euros. He retries on Wednesday at the post office, this time with loot of 1,400 euros. The gendarmes of Saint-Etienne de Saint-Geoirs, provided with the description of the vehicle in which the man had left the postal agency, " quickly identified the perpetrator as a resident ", and made " immediately the link "with the two other recent and similar cases, said the prosecutor.

Patrols deployed in the area quickly arrested " the driver without resistance or rebellion ", who " immediately recognized " the facts. A search of his home found the rifle and parts associated with the other two robberies. Placed in police custody, the sexagenarian, lonely, explained that he wanted "to send money to a woman with whom he is in contact by internet and who would live in the South of France ".
