According to Midi Olympique, a first case of coronavirus within the Top 14 has been identified and would affect the Stade Français team.

After Hyun-jun Suk, the striker of the Troyes football club (Ligue 2) and first professional player on French territory tested positive for Coronavirus on Friday, it is the turn of the Top 14 to be struck by the epidemic. According to Midi Olympique , this first case in professional rugby would affect a Stade Français player whose identity has not yet been revealed.

This revelation implies that all players of the Paris team will have to stay at their home for the next fourteen days, a period corresponding to the maximum incubation time of the Covid-19. Midi Olympique specifies that this confinement procedure will concern all club members, professional staff, but also the hopes section.

The League decided on Friday to suspend the Top 14 and Pro D2 championships until further notice. A decision that also involved the suspension of training. Professional players could be placed on partial unemployment.
