The head of government then announced the closure of open markets. Only medical emergencies

Finally, Edouard Philippe called on the French to limit their travel even for medical visits. An emergency or a "doctor's summons" will now be required for this justification to be valid so as not to be subject to a fine.

In the afternoon, Emmanuel Macron, who is known to be annoyed by the indiscipline of certain French people, had already warned that his Prime Minister would return to the rules of containment: "Edouard Philippe will explain the decisions taken by the government this evening so that it is better respected, "warned the head of state visiting a shelter center for the homeless in Paris.

The President further clarified that he would be the one announcing the likely extension of the confinement period while he would speak again soon.
