"Many French people would like to be able to find the time before but it is not for tomorrow. The time of confinement is still ours, it can last for several more weeks ”, introduced the head of government, before announcing a tightening of the rules of exits in three axes.
Sport: 1 km from home maximum and alone
First of all concerning sports activities. The Prime Minister considered that the existing instructions should be specified: "Going out to take your children for a walk or play sports is within a radius of 1 km from your home, for a maximum of one hour, and on your own. »In addition, note the timetable on the sworn statement that must be written for each outing.
Closing of markets, except exceptions
The head of government then announced the closure of open markets. But the decree he will sign this Monday evening - and will come into force on Tuesday - will allow mayors to derogate from these rules when the market is the only way, for the inhabitants of a village for example, to access fresh products or the only way for farmers to sell their produce.
Only medical emergencies
Finally, Edouard Philippe called on the French to limit their travel even for medical visits. An emergency or a "doctor's summons" will now be required for this justification to be valid so as not to be subject to a fine.
In the afternoon, Emmanuel Macron, who is known to be annoyed by the indiscipline of certain French people, had already warned that his Prime Minister would return to the rules of containment: "Edouard Philippe will explain the decisions taken by the government this evening so that it is better respected, "warned the head of state visiting a shelter center for the homeless in Paris.
