Why is "Let's Dance" not live? Many RTL viewers will ask themselves this question on Friday evening. We clarify.

  • Good Friday is a dance ban for "Let's Dance".
  • No live show on RTL , but instead "The greatest let's dance moments of the jurors".
  • From April 17, the live shows will continue as usual.

Cologne - On February 21, 2020 the 13th season of "Let's Dance" started. "Let's Dance" takes a break at Easter: dance ban on Good Friday and corona virus paralyzes everything

This year everything is different anyway. The contact restrictions that the corona virus brings with it have already paralyzed public life . It hardly matters that every Easter at many cities and towns in Germany there is discussion about whether the ban on dancing and events on Good Friday is still up to date.

With “Let's Dance”, RTL adheres to the strict rules every year

Good Friday, which always falls on the Friday before Easter Sunday , is considered a so-called silent holiday. That means a general ban on dancing in Germany . RTL has always adhered to the strict regulations so far. On Good Friday, the broadcaster always waived the live broadcast of "Let's Dance" . Also this year the participating celebrities, the 13th season that started, will not whirl live on the floor.

"Let's Dance" fans can still be happy

Instead of a new live show, the RTL “The Greatest Let's Dance Moments of the Jury” will run on RTL on Friday from 8.15 pm Dance fans do not have to do without emotional “Let's Dance” appearances completely. The audience can look forward to a compilation of the best salsa, tango and Viennese waltz moments.

The judges of the dance show show their very personal "Let's Dance" highlights. Motsi Mabuse, Joachim Llambi and Jorge González lead the audience through the show and present their best-of moments from 13 “Let's Dance” seasons.

"Let's Dance" 2020: jurors choose their personal highlights

Each jury member selects their own highlights . Together with the moderators Daniel Hartwich and Victoria Swarovski, they review the time. Some prominent guests will also have their say. Of course, extraordinary dance performances should not be missing from “Let's Dance” and so the professional dancer ensemble will present the most beautiful tour dances in the studio.
