As part of an initiative by the Ministry of Economy and the Israeli Consumer Council, a "Corona Basket" has recently been built, which includes 5 products that consumers need to deal with the virus crisis, whose consumption has increased recently.

The price comparison with the various networks revealed that the Rami Levy chain was found to be the cheapest network in products tested with a cost of NIS 78, while Victory was found to be the most expensive network with a cost of NIS 105. This is a gap of NIS 27. The second most expensive network is Mega City with a basket of NIS 103.3, and in the third place Super Pharm with a basket of NIS 94.1.

For comparison, 5 sample products were selected from brands found in 10 popular marketing chains in Israel.

The test was conducted via the Pricez website last Tuesday, and it has raised tens of tens of shekels in the basket price.

At the same time, the price of the "Corona Product Basket" that was being tested these days, ie in April, was compared to the prices at which the same products were sold the month before. The comparison shows that the average basket in April (NIS 90.5) was slightly lower compared to the same basket price in March, with an average price of: NIS 92.6. The largest gap was recorded by the Rami Levy chain, which in April reduced the prices of the tested products by 10.4% over their March prices. Super Pharm was the only network to raise prices in April compared to March.

According to the Minister of Economy and Industry, Eli Cohen: "The Ministry of Economy and the Consumer Council are monitoring prices on the networks to prevent consumer exploitation during the crisis."
