Some wineries claim to be the first company in Hong Kong to brew local gin wine on social platforms, and they also demonstrated the distiller to strengthen their persuasion, but the fact is that they sell dog meat in the sheep's head and use foreign felt wine as "earth cannon" to deceive consumers! Customs searched a winery in Tsuen Wan yesterday (15th) and found that the company had imported gin wine imported from New Zealand with a new label, pretending to be Hong Kong ’s own gin wine, and illegally possessing a distiller for distilling and processing drinking alcohol . During the operation, customs officers arrested two persons, aged 29 and 40 respectively, one of whom was a company shareholder, and the two were suspected of "violating the Trade Descriptions Ordinance" and "violating the Trade Descriptions Ordinance".

Huang Xixin, the commander of the Private Petroleum and General Investigation Unit, said that the Customs found a self-proclaimed Hong Kong's first and only local distillery brewery on social media platforms, displaying photos of the distillers in the workshop for solicitation. It has been in operation for about half a year. Since the production of spirits in Hong Kong requires a license, the Customs has checked the information. In the past, only 5 licenses were issued for the manufacture of spirits, of which only 2 were for the production of gin, but the company involved did not have a license.

In addition, the company applied to the Customs for an import permit in April this year to import a batch of gin wine in New Zealand. However, when the customs officers inspected the batch of imported felt wine on April 12, they found that 1557 sticks of felt wine were not labeled with any label, and the unusual behavior caused the customs to suspect.

Customs decided to take action yesterday and raided the company's workshop in Tsuen Wan. It was revealed that there were 1,325 sticks in the workshop without any labels, unopened felt wine, a small amount of felt wine with local labels, and a batch of labels. Customs officers estimated that the company put New Zealand Felt into the bottle at the workshop, and then affixed the local label, so it is believed that the company made a false claim, making people mistakenly believe that New Zealand Felt is a locally brewed Felt wine, some of which are products It has flowed out of the market, and the Customs and Excise Department immediately recovered 150 pieces of wine suspected to be defective. Most of the felt wine will be sold online, and the customs will continue to contact distributors to take back the products.

In addition, there is a distiller in the workshop that can be used for distillation and processing of drinking alcohol, but it has been dustproof, showing that the company has never used this to make wine. Customs said that gin wine is becoming more and more popular in the local market, but the market price is not much different. It is believed that the people involved in the case mainly use distillers to attract and use local production and local taste to attract customers. The Customs emphasized that anyone who possesses a distiller that can be used for distillation and processing of drinking alcohol must obtain Customs approval, otherwise it will violate the Commodities Regulations of the Reaction Division.
