Dr. George Diaz was the physician in charge of treating the first patient diagnosed with coronavirus in the United States on January 20 in Everett, Washington state. Almost two months later, the number of infected in the country is close to 700,000 and more than 33,000 people have died. But this first patient received life-saving treatment. Dr. Diaz is an infectious disease specialist at Providence Regional Medical Center in Washington, where he continues to lead the fight against covid-19.
