An armed man fatally shot ten people in various locations in Nova Scotia's eastern Canadian province on Sunday night, the country's worst shooting event in three decades.

The gunman's shooting campaign, a Canadian citizen named Gabriel Wortman, lasted 12 hours and was carried out using vehicles disguised as a police car. The Canadian police said the number of people killed in the shooting was still not final. Among those killed in the shooting campaign is also a police officer in the Canadian police mounted.

According to police reports, Wortman was killed but police refused to say whether he had been shot by police or committed suicide after police closed him. "Today is a tragic day for Nova Scotia and it will remain engraved in our hearts for many years," said Bergerman, Nova Scotia's Canadian Police Commander.

The incident began near Halifax, the provincial capital, when police found several bodies in a small town off the Atlantic coast. After a 12-hour chase, Wortman shot dead another unknown number of people. A resident of the area said he saw two burning vehicles near the main road.
