The number of coronavirus deaths in the United States has increased by almost 2,000 in the past 24 hours to a total of 40,661 on Sunday, according to a count by Johns Hopkins University, which reports.
The increase in the number of deaths in 1997 is slightly greater than the 1,891 deaths recorded one day earlier in the 24 hour period.
