Coronavirus: death toll at lowest since March 14 in Italy

Italy has registered an additional 260 deaths due to the Covid-19 epidemic in the past 24 hours, the lowest number since March 14 when the peninsula reported 175 deaths.

Since March 14, Italy has recorded more than 300 deaths every day, with peaks approaching 1,000 deaths, for a total of 26,644 deaths, according to the report published Sunday by the civil protection.

The number of new infected patients is also at its lowest level since April 20 with a figure of 2324 against 2357 Saturday.

The death toll is down sharply from Saturday's (415), and down for the third day in a row.
