Korean team fined for putting dolls in the stands 0:53
(CNN) - The South Korean team FC Seoul was fined 100 million Korean won (US $ 81,300) after being accused of putting sex dolls in the stands to contribute to the atmosphere of a closed-door match.
Many sports tournaments around the world remain on hiatus due to the threat of the coronavirus, but the South Korean K League is one of the leagues that have attempted to return to activity, albeit without viewers.
FC Seoul sparked controversy on Sunday during its home game against Gwangju, in the framework of the Korean First Division, when it was accused of using sex dolls to fill seats in its stands.
The club apologized and the K League fined him 100 million Korean won ($ 81,300) for the incident, according to a team spokesperson.
FC Seoul told CNN on Thursday that it "humbly accepts" the decision.
The K League has not responded to CNN's request for a comment.
