Chief Executive Lin Zheng Yuee met with the media in the evening to describe the central government's initiative to "take action" to lead the legislative work. At 8:00 pm, riot police officers carried tear gas and rubber bullets into the Liaison Office. At least 3 police vehicles outside the Liaison Office were on alert to strictly guard against demonstrations. At 11 pm, the former representatives of the Academic Union, Lin Yaoqiang and Chen Qinghua, brought banners to the scene to protest the CCP ’s decision.

At 8 pm, more than 100 riot police officers carried a large number of objects, including tear gas and rubber bombs, into the Liaison Office. By 10 o'clock in the evening, there were at least three police vehicles on alert outside the Liaison Office. Military uniformed officers patrolled nearby, and some workers added iron frames behind the gate. Former representatives of the Academic Union, Lin Yaoqiang and Chen Qinghua, shouted slogans with the banner of "shameless betrayal of the Chinese Communist Party" to protest the relevant decisions of the Chinese Communist Party. In the meantime, a riot police officer copied the IDs of 2 people.

The third session of the 13th National People's Congress opened this morning (22nd). The agenda included consideration of the "Hong Kong version of the National Security Law." The draft mainly aimed at four types of behaviors, including subversion of state power, secession of the country, terrorist activities, and interference by external forces. The bill will be voted on the closing day (28th).
