Victory for Teachers 'Organizations: After the Labor Court refused to issue an order to instruct teachers to work during the summer, Education Minister Yoav Galant and Teachers' Union Secretary-General Yaffe Ben-David announced an agreement to allow the "School of Great Freedom" to operate, Additional teacher pay. At the same time, the school year in sixth and sixth grades will end on June 30, as usual and in seventh-eighth grade actually ended yesterday. It should be noted at this point that it is unclear where the budget for extending the "School of Great Freedom" will come from, and the concern is that the parents - whose project funding falls on them - will have to pay more for running this year.

Under the agreement, the "Great School of Freedom" operates for kindergarten children and first-graders, beginning Jan. 1, 20 through Oct. 6, 20. The statement from the Education Minister stated that the outline reached "will allow students to complete gaps created in the past year due to the outbreak of the Corona. The return to a supplementary education framework during this challenging period will also enable stability in the Israeli economy and will help the country financially and socially."

Ben David also referred to the agreement, saying: "At the end of the school year, I wish you and your family a pleasant vacation. I want to thank you for your dedicated work during the complex dark period we went through. Not only did you teach, you were anchored to families and students, a significant connection and presence for many homes in Israel. This is not self-evident and for that you deserve great thanks. "

The chair of the Elementary Teachers' Organization, Ran Erez, also addressed the decision, saying: "The National Labor Court has ruled in our favor and has rejected the petition of the Ministry of Finance and local education ministries to extend the school year in the 10th grade. We demanded and fought for the fact that even in the junior high, seventh-grade teachers would not have to extend the school year, but the tribunal accepted the state's position that the agreement made with the Teachers 'Union is binding and therefore does not comply with the teachers' organization.

"The achievement of the organization, even though it was only in the 10th grade, also actually solved the problem of middle school teachers that the addition of days decided by the Teachers Union together with the state in the middle schools is conditional on days in the 10th grade, since we managed to avoid extra working days for the 10th grade For the Teachers' Federation, however, to cancel the extra school days for middle school teachers, so our victory is also a victory for middle school teachers, we will continue to stand by you. Your place with us, the family of primary teachers. "

Remember, during the last day, there were contacts between the teachers and the Ministry of Education regarding the management of the school year interrupted by the Corona crisis. While in the Department of Education, teachers wanted teachers to continue teaching until July 9 without pay, claiming that teachers did not attend schools during the Corona crisis. The teachers, on the other hand, stated that during the period they taught from the homes, and therefore, there is no place to add school days without adding wages.
