It is not easy to be independent in Israel, and the corona virus has only made the situation more extreme.

The virus, with its many consequences, caused a lot of self-employed people, large and small, to get into trouble and their livelihoods to be harmed.

In the section "Lifting for the self-employed" we will introduce you every week a small business in the field of food, whose whole desire is to survive this complex period in peace.

And this time: Brit Binert

Who am I?

Brit Binart, 29, of Givatayim

The enterprise of my life

Home business for making tarts

How did I get into this?

8 years ago I decided I was going to study confectionery.

I studied at Estella and started working as a confectioner at the Sheila restaurant, where I realized how much I was in love with my profession.

During my career, I managed the confectioneries of Social Club Restaurant, Elena at the Norman Hotel, Jaffa Restaurant Tel Aviv and more.

After a while, and also thanks to the corona, I decided to start working from home as well and sell to private individuals what I know to do best.

My flagship dish is lemon tart and burnt meringue with pistachios and berries.

Where am I another year from today?

Has a small place that prepares and delivers desserts to restaurants

My biggest dream?

Travel around Europe, meet people from the field and write a dessert blog and a guide to equal places for confectioners.

How did I survive the Corona period?

With lots of uncertainty.

I am self-employed and also an employee.

It is convenient for me to combine the worlds and keep moving and creating.

When I was taken out to the hospital, I suddenly realized that I needed to give gas to the home business and that I had to take care of myself. In retrospect, thanks to the difficulty, I progressed with the business and was able to create a stunning customer base.
