After the list's chairman, Yair Lapid, announced today (Monday) that he does not intend to hold early elections for the party leadership, MK Ofer Shelach teased him and wrote on his Twitter account: "Strong people are not afraid."

As expected, Yair Lapid opposes the primaries for the election of the party's chairman, as he demanded that MK Ofer Shelach hold, as early as the beginning of December.
As you may recall, following the press conference, Lapid announced today at the faction meeting that a special conference will be held that will find a way to hold internal elections for the position of party chairman. This promise will be read not on a specific date but "during 2021" in Lapid's language.

Lapid responded to Shelah's challenge and said that "there will be a confrontation. I welcome it, its time has come, but we will do everything without pressure. No one is giving me ultimatums. I will not let phenomena that destroyed parties like Labor and Kadima destroy Yesh Atid as well."
Lapid added that "Bish Atid has friends of thousands of activists who have been fighting the trenches for years. They have gained the right to shape its image and choose its leadership through sweat, intersections and bridges. We will build the internal elections with them. Together with the chiefs of staff and key activists.
"There is a future - Telam is the only real alternative to Netanyahu's rule.
We have a clear goal: to replace the government in Israel.
