All the riders and staff members of the twenty-two Tour de France teams (650 people) underwent a PCR test for the detection of Covid-19 between Sunday and Monday.
Result: no rider is positive, the organization's press release revealed on Tuesday less than two hours before the start of the 10th stage between the Ile d'Oléron and the Ile de Ré.
This test was performed by the Unilab mobile medical unit in Pau, before the start of the 9th stage, then in La Rochelle during the first day of rest on Monday.
Sent to Tour de France chief medical officer Florence Pommery, the test results were then communicated to ASO and the UCI, the International Federation which oversees the process.
