What characterized yesterday in Bnei Brak is the confusion: what exactly is forbidden?

What is allowed?

From 7pm a night curfew was imposed on the city, but what if we got out of town at 7:15 because of traffic jams?

Shall we stay outside?

The instructions from the various authorities contradicted themselves, both with regard to schooling in the coming days, and with regard to restrictions.

In girls' schools, for example, there are no studies, but with regard to Torah studies for boys, here the municipality has announced that each institution will decide for itself whether to open or not.

Dormitories - yes.

Genes - None.

But this was how it had looked all last week in the city.

In the first they said that in the second there would be a closure.

In both quarantines it was lifted and a night curfew was declared in its place.

At night the curfew was also lifted and postponed the next day.

It is important to say first of all that the instructions are important.

If a closure or curfew is needed, I and the other residents will keep it, of course.

But it's hard to understand the logic behind Lily's curfew.

The kids are at home at this time anyway;

Walking to the nearest synagogue, even after 7 pm - allowed;

The weddings that were supposed to take place in the evening - were brought forward to noon.

So what exactly is effective in such a "curfew", when at all other hours of the day everything is going as usual?

Just a "babysitter" on the town?

After the morning prayer last night, an argument broke out among the worshipers in the synagogue where I pray.

Well, the usual argument - is there a corona or is it just another flu.

Thank God, even those who shouted who read articles proving that there is no room for hysteria, and all a kind of hospital conspiracy to obtain budgets, wore masks.

Even if there is an argument and there are different opinions in the city, and also anger at the state that imposes - again - closure on the ultra-Orthodox areas, the residents are disciplined.

The ads yesterday in Bnei Brak promised carrots in addition to the curfew: if the rules are observed and Bnei Brak turns orange and maybe - who knows - even green, we can make the Tishrei holidays (almost) like every year.

Otherwise, the closure will also continue into the holidays themselves and the Seder script will repeat itself.

This statement was more effective than any closure: Bnei Brak is not ready for another holiday to be celebrated in solitude and sorrow, as on Passover.

The streets of Bnei Brak were dull and sad last night, empty of people.

Heavenly, because we are disciplined.

And sad, because we, the Lightning, were marked again.

Everything is open, and with us - closed.
