Ganderkesee - In Lower Saxony there was a tragic accident in which a 17-year-old died on Saturday evening (October 10th).

At around 11.30 p.m., the young man was hit by a train and died as a result.

As reported by the Wildeshausen police, the 17-year-old wanted to cross the level crossing in Sahrener Weg in Bookholzberg with his bike, even though the barriers were closed.

The youngster succumbed to the injuries at the scene of the accident.

The affected train drove to a train station and then let the passengers get off.

Lower Saxony / Ganderkesee: Police are investigating

The accident site is northwest of Delmenhorst, close to the city of Bremen.

According to the police, more details about the terrible accident still need to be clarified.

The 17-year-old is said to come from Ganderkesee.
