The Directorate of Education in Sweida closed the classroom section in Martyr Kamal Obaid High School in the city of Sweida, as part of the precautionary measures in place in accordance with the health protocol approved by the Ministry of Education after confirming that a student was infected with the Corona virus.

The Director of Education in Sweida, Bassam Abu Mahmoud pointed out that as a result of transferring some suspected health cases to the School Health Department and following up with the Health Directorate teams and conducting the necessary swabs, it was found that a student in the third grade of scientific secondary school was infected with the Corona virus, and accordingly, swabs were taken for most of the division’s students and a number of teaching staff. With the closure of the department for five days, the intensification of sterilization operations, and the emphasis on students adhering to the rules of public health.

For his part, the director of high school, Fakhri Falout, explained that the student was referred a week ago to school health and was absent from work since last Monday, and he was given 9 days of rest, and after a smear was conducted in the hospital during his absence from work according to the break, the results of the swab were positive, as a medical and nursing team from the Health Directorate presented Today, he went to high school, and he conducted an examination for students of his division and took swabs from those in contact and those sitting near him as well as from some teachers to check that there were no injuries, with the division closed until next Sunday and to conduct the necessary sterilization operations and to stress the commitment to preventive measures in terms of washing hands, sterilization, and wearing masks that were distributed to students free of charge in previous days.

Falout indicated that the school is an integral part of society and a microcosm of it, and since the virus is present in reality and is spread among the people, schools are exposed at all times to the emergence of cases, so we ask the parents of dear students to help guide their children to adhere to the rules of public safety.

At the end of last month, the Education Directorate in As-Suwayda closed a classroom class in the Martyr Nayef Jarbou High School, according to the health protocol approved by the Ministry of Education, after confirming that a student in the second grade of secondary school was infected with the Corona virus.
