* 8 DECEMBER, DEADLINE TO RESOLVE DISPUTES.
Any disputes must be concluded by this date, starting with those on the postal vote still being counted in some states.
The term also applies to any recount of votes in the individual states, to lawsuits in the courts and to any recourse to the Supreme Court.
* 14 DECEMBER, THE ELECTION OF THE PRESIDENT
: it is up to the electoral college made up of 538 electors.
Each candidate, state by state, chooses which great electors will have to represent him in the college.
