Senior official in Israel for "Israel Today": "The security of the Sunni states in the United States will be undermined"

Against the background of Biden's advantage in the vote count:

Senior officials in moderate Arab countries told Israel Today that their fear did not stem from the foreign policy outlined by Biden - but from the people and advisers who would make up the presidential decision-making hive in Washington.

A senior United Arab Emirates official, Abu Dhabi, said: "There is a very strong fear that a US administration led by Joe Biden will remove from Tehran the sanctions imposed by the Trump administration and seek a new deal with Iran. "Shortly - and threaten the stability of the entire region. The lifting of sanctions on Iran will enable the ayatollahs' regime to continue to fund extremist Islamic terrorist organizations, which threaten order worldwide, and not just in the Middle East."

In Egypt and Bahrain, too, senior officials have said they would like the victory of incumbent President Trump, and that there is grave concern that Biden's entry into the White House will disrupt the regional alliance formed between Israel and the Axis of moderate Sunni states.

This is in light of the possibility that a US administration led by Biden will work to renew the nuclear agreement with Iran, and even reach a compromise with the Iranians on a softened and improved agreement.

A senior Cairo Foreign Ministry official told Israel Today: "We have quite a few concerns. A government led by Biden could cause regional instability in the face of Biden's zeal, and especially that of its advisers, to reach a new deal with Tehran. Such a situation could cause countries like Sudan "Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates will not trust the umbrella of American backing in the face of the Iranian threat, which was given when they signed the agreements to normalize relations with Israel."

It should be noted that according to political figures in the Persian Gulf states and senior Arab diplomats, Trump's loss could lead to the cessation of US-mediated talks to normalize relations between Israel and other Arab countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar.

"It is already clear that if Biden is elected, the possibility of signing agreements between Israel and other Arab countries, such as Saudi Arabia and even Qatar, will be removed," a senior Arab diplomat told Israel Today.

However, there are those who have also taken a contradictory and rather surprising stance in relation to the position of those who fear the impact of Biden's foreign policy on the processes taking place in the Middle East.

A senior Saudi official told Israel Today that there are speculations that Biden's election to the US presidency and the fear that his government will seek a new nuclear deal with Tehran will strengthen the regional alliance formed between Israel and the Axis of moderate Sunni Arab states. "Trump's victory," the senior official admitted, "but his defeat to Biden will only strengthen the regional alliance with Israel, as the policy outlined by the Biden administration will make us and Israel face the Iranian threat, without the American umbrella."
