Anger among many of the thousands of immigrants from Belarus in the country after the Israeli ambassador in Minsk today handed the treaty letter to dictator Alexander Lukashenko.
The reason: for more than 100 days, Lukashenko has been brutally suppressing the protests after the election.
Ten civilians were killed by regime thugs, about 30,000 people were arrested and 500 cases of torture have already been reported.
Terrifying: Policemen beating civilians in Belarus
The Facebook page of the embassy in Minsk was attacked by angry Israelis.
"What was it like shaking hands with a killer?"
Written by Yulia Guerenko from Petah Tikva.
Veronica Darchin, also from Petah Tikva: "You support the oppression and terrorism of the fascist regime."
Insa Papadopoulos from Modi'in: "Shame on you, you handed over a certificate to a human animal."
Amazed Belarusian citizens also wrote on the embassy page.
"Explain to me how a country with such a tragic history knew de facto a tyrant who was destroying his people?"
An article, for example, by Katya Syorkova from Minsk.
For three months now, Israel has refrained from condemning or expressing concern in the face of the regime's actions in Belarus, in contrast to condemnations from the Trump administration and certainly the European Union, which has imposed a series of sanctions.
Along with the Israeli ambassador, the charter of the ambassadors of Namibia, Bangladesh, China and Cambodia was also presented at the ceremony.
