The Maduro government sees Sunday's legislative elections as an opportunity to regain control of Parliament.

"If the opposition wins, I will go,"

President Nicolas Maduro declared Tuesday, December 1.

But what opposition is he talking about?

In a video posted on social networks this week, the president presents the ballot with which Venezuelans will vote this Sunday to elect a new National Assembly and on which appear the names and logos of the parties participating in the poll.

“You have the PSUV

(Unified Socialist Party of Venezuela created by Chavez, Editor's note)

, the PPT

(Party for all)

, the UPV

(the Union for Venezuela)

, Podemos, Tupamaru, Somos Venezuela, Allianza para el cambio.

The parties of the Great Democratic Pole.

On top.

Always at the top,

explains the president.

And then down the opposition: the MAS, Avanza progresista, Copei, Accion democratica, Primera Venezuela, Voluntad popular, Cambiemos. ”

Here are thus designated and classified by the president himself, the Chavist parties and the opposition parties.

The official opposition.
