Anyone who drives an electric car will soon be able to charge their car at Peitinger Hauptplatz: As Mayor Peter Ostenrieder recently announced in the local council, negotiations with a provider about the construction of a public charging station have been concluded.

Peiting

- The town hall chief had already discussed plans for a public charging station in front of the tourist information office in September.

The negotiations with a provider had advanced well, said Ostenrieder at the time.

The question of financing, however, was still open after the relevant funding program had expired.

According to the mayor, this has now been clarified.

The connection costs of several thousand euros would be covered by a subsidy, reports Ostenrieder when asked by the SN.

Accordingly, negotiations with the provider have meanwhile been successfully concluded.

The Lechwerke (LEW) were awarded the contract for the e-filling station.

A charging station will be set up, via which two neighboring parking spaces can be supplied with a charging power of 11 KW each.

The offer is not completely free for the community.

The market has to pay 160 euros a month as a rent, says Ostenrieder.

"At the moment, such charging stations are not yet profitable for providers to operate." The mayor sees the new option as a service.

It is the first charging station on public land in the main town of Peiting.

There are already two other public LEW charging stations in the Herzogsägmühle district.

Customers can also charge their electric cars at the V-Markt in Peiting.

A similar offer is planned for the new hardware store on Zeißlerweg, which is on the plan, says Ostenrieder.

By the way: Anyone who will charge their electric car on the main square in the future will have to put the parking disc during the day.

Eastrieder announced that no exception will be made for the two parking spaces from the recently introduced parking time restriction of two hours on working days.

This is to prevent long-term parkers.

No restrictions apply after 6 p.m.

Residents and any guests in the surrounding inns could charge their electric car overnight, says the town hall chief.

The question remains when the LEW will start building the electric charging station.

Everything has already been checked and planned, but there is still no date, says Ostenrieder.

"We are waiting for feedback every day."
