Brazil exceeded the threshold of 180,000 deaths from Covid-19 on Friday, according to the latest report from the Ministry of Health, which reports 646 deaths in the last 24 hours.
The second most bereaved country after the United States, Brazil, which suffers the full brunt of the second wave of contaminations, has a total of 180,411 deaths and 6.83 million confirmed cases.

After an endless plateau of more than 1,000 deaths from June to August, the curves began to sag, with less than 400 daily deaths on average in mid-November, before starting to rise again in recent weeks.
In seven of the 27 Brazilian state capitals, the occupancy of intensive care beds is over 90%.
On Thursday, the far-right president ignored this second wave, saying that Brazil was
"at the very end of the pandemic"

But specialists fear that the rate of contamination will accelerate even more with family reunions at the end of the year, in this country of 212 million inhabitants which is preparing to enter the southern summer with beaches already crowded on weekends.
