Following the triple murder over the weekend, in which the brothers Ahmad (33), and Muhammad Sharqiya (45) from Jat and their nephew Amir Abu Hussein (25) from Baqa al-Gharbiya were killed, the number of murders in the Arab sector in Israel has risen to 108 since the beginning of 2020.

In Baqa al-Gharbiya and Jat it was difficult to digest the difficult events.

Family members say that the murdered are not connected to the world of crime, and that they were not in conflict with anyone.

Sheriff Sharqiya, the brothers' uncle, said: "The case is not so clear to us. Overall their nephew was wounded by gunfire and they heard and drove together after the ambulance. Stop people driving on the road and kill them? Where are we? Murdered them without any justice."

Sharqiya said that Ahmed was an electrician, married and a father of two and Muhammad was married and a father of three.

"They were good people who loved their families. They had no problem with anyone."

He pointed an accusing finger at the police: "I have complaints to the police. The police have to take matters into their own hands. It is impossible to continue like this. We are in a bad situation. Everyone is afraid. People are just murdered like this and it is impossible to know who is next in line and why."

Gamil Abu Hussein, the nephew of Amir, calls for help: "I ask the Jews to help us solve this problem. The young men are just going. I am asking the government to help us."

MK Ayman Odeh, chairman of the joint list, came to comfort the family.

He said that on Monday a protest convoy would leave Highway 6 for Jerusalem following the triple murder.

"What has been happening to us for the last twenty years and especially in the last year is something unthinkable," Odeh said.

"Our lives have become condolence visits. Every day we are on condolence visits. People want to live. If our lives are not natural the life of the whole country will not be natural. We want to live with dignity. The first step, already on Monday at 9 we start closing Highway 6." .

He also criticized the police: "If the police want, they can. When a Jew is murdered by the Arabs, the police know how to reach him. We want them to decipher the files, collect the unauthorized weapons and emigrate the gangs."
