A 45-year-old man was placed in police custody on Monday, December 28 after killing his 7-year-old daughter in Ostwald, in the Strasbourg metropolitan area, we learned from a police source.

For reasons still undetermined, the forty-something "
strangled his daughter in her sleep
", the same source said.
The man then warned the police who could only note the death of the child.
He spontaneously admitted the facts and allegedly spoke of a desire for “
revenge
”.
According to the same source, he was living as a couple but was alone with his daughter in the accommodation at the time of the facts.
The man is not known to the police. He is due to undergo psychiatric examinations within the next few hours. The investigation was entrusted to the departmental security.
