At around 7:30 a.m. on New Year's Day, a charcoal burning case occurred on Da Mong Tsai Road in Saigon. A man was unconscious in his Tesla car and died in hospital.
The 55-year-old man who died was American investor Paul Heffner. His wife was Cao Huiting, the founder of Dragonair and the granddaughter of the "wool spinning king" Cao Guangbiao.
It is understood that the deceased was troubled by money problems.
At around 7:30 a.m. on New Year's Day, a passer-by found a male driver in a Tesla private car near the bus stop in Tso Wo Hang Village, Tai Mong Tsai Road, Sai Kung, and called the police.
The police did not seize the suicide note at the scene, but seized a charcoal stove and other exhibits for investigation.
It can be seen at the scene that "Happy New Year" was written on the roof of the Tesla car's trunk.
The driver of the private car, a 55-year-old foreign man, was sent to the Prince of Wales Hospital in a coma and was later certified dead.
The police are investigating the incident.
The deceased Han Funan was mainly engaged in fund business in the past. He was one of the founders, chief executive officer and managing director of the fund company "Anders Asset Management (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd.".
The company was accused last year for failing to implement sufficient measures to ensure accurate and punctual disclosure of the notifiable rights and interests of eight Hong Kong listed company stocks, and was condemned by the Securities Regulatory Commission and fined 2.5 million yuan.
