Against all odds, “Barkhane” wants to hold his line.
In the aftermath of a new attack which cost the lives of two soldiers deployed in Mali, the Minister of the Armed Forces, Florence Parly, confirmed future major strategic choices: after the surge decided in January 2020 and the sending of 600 additional soldiers , the time has come for an inflection.

Almost nine years after the start of its intervention in the Sahel against jihadist groups, "Barkhane" is preparing to downsize.
