The fourth wave of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in Hong Kong continues. Today (7th) 33 new confirmed cases were confirmed. Of the 29 local cases, 5 were of unknown origin. This is the least number of cases of unknown origin recorded since November 20.

Today, the 4 imported cases include 1 from Nepal and 3 from Pakistan. There are more than 30 preliminary confirmed cases.

The Lam Tin Tunnel Group in Tseung Kwan O expanded further and 11 more people were diagnosed.

Zhang Zhujun, Director of the Infectious Diseases Division of the Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health, announced that today 24 new cases were related to earlier cases, and 18 cases were confirmed in the quarantine center.

There are 11 people related to the Lam Tin Tunnel in Tseung Kwan O, including 2 employees and 9 close contacts. 11 people were diagnosed at the quarantine center.

Together with the previous case, a total of 15 employees and 12 close contacts of the Lam Tin Tunnel in Tseung Kwan O were diagnosed, and a total of 27 people were infected.

Yu Huiling, Chief Administrative Manager (Medical Effectiveness and Technology Management) of the Hospital Authority, said that Princess Margaret Hospital opened a mobile testing station on the 5th of this month. As of last night, nearly 1,200 people were tested. Together with hospital testing, more than 1,500 people were tested.

A patient service assistant of the Occupational Therapy Department was initially diagnosed after testing. He went to the staff clinic for treatment on the 6th of this month because of cough and sore throat.

The patient service assistant mainly assists occupational therapists in treatment and sewing pressure garments. The patient does not need to be in contact with the confirmed person at work, and he also wears appropriate personal protective equipment.

The patient service assistant had eaten with 3 people. They were classified as close contacts and required quarantine.

The assistant had a family member who was unwell earlier, and was also initially diagnosed just now.

There are currently no new cases in the day ward of Princess Margaret Hospital where there was an infection. There are 243 staff who have to undergo mandatory testing, of which 200 have been tested, and the rest will also be tested.

As for the initial diagnosis of a radiologist in Tuen Mun Hospital yesterday, another cleaning support staff was listed as a close contact. He did not wear a face mask during cleaning, and his work included cleaning the toilets used by colleagues.

When asked whether the number of local cases has fallen to the number of units, the government will relax social distancing measures. Deputy Director of the Food and Health Bureau Xu Deyi said that in each paragraph of the epidemic, the government will depend on the "characteristics of the waves" and need to refer to the previous volatility. As well as earlier relaxation of the frequency and scope of tightening measures, as a reference.

He pointed out that compared with the third wave, the number of cases in the fourth wave of the epidemic has remained high for a long time, and the decline has been slow. It requires careful decision-making. He understands that operators have difficulty in implementing social distancing measures and emphasized that the authorities "must be careful to relax. Too fast will not cause the epidemic to rebound."
