David Worley, the highest-ranking member of the Georgia State Board of Elections, confirmed to CNN that he asked the Georgia Secretary of State to open an investigation into his Jan. 2 phone call with President Donald Trump. .
This is to determine if voter fraud violations occurred.
In a letter to the Georgia Secretary of State and Georgia election officials, Worley wrote that he was concerned about "President Trump's attempt to manipulate the votes of Georgians."
Worley praised Secretary of State Raffensperger and attorney Ryan Germany "for sticking to the state's position and simple facts."
“Our job as members of the State Board of Elections is to enforce the Georgia Elections Code.
Among our responsibilities is to determine whether there is likely cause to refer potential civil and criminal violations of the Code to the Georgia Attorney General and local district attorneys, ”Worley wrote in the letter.

"It will be the duty of the Board to determine whether probable cause exists to refer this matter to Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr and Fulton District Attorney Fani Willis for criminal prosecution or civil remedies," Worley wrote.
CNN has reached out to Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr for comment, but has yet to receive a response.
