Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) and the prime ministers of the federal states have agreed on new measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
After hours of negotiations, there is now a decision on the contentious issue of school and daycare openings.
According to SPIEGEL information, daycare centers and schools in Germany are to remain largely closed until February 14.
The previous decision of December 13th is thus continued, the requirement to attend schools nationwide remains suspended.
"The same procedure is used in day-care centers," says the decision paper.
