In the absence of six days to complete a month of the stage of

"mass" vaccination

against the coronavirus

in the Province of Buenos Aires

(the first was aimed exclusively at health personnel), the application of vaccines is progressing at a moderate pace in the suburbs.

A peculiarity: two bordering municipalities, in the western area of Greater Buenos Aires, are at the two ends of the table in terms of percentage of the vaccinated population.

Morón, which is also the district that leads the number of registered on the official website of the Province, is the one with the highest proportion of its inhabitants with one or two doses applied;

while next to it, Merlo, is the one with the worst percentage.

The latest number updated by the provincial Ministry of Health this Thursday at 22:08, specifies that throughout the Buenos Aires territory there are 883,589 vaccinated (735,397 with the first dose and 148,192 the two), which when averaged by the 17,709,598 inhabitants of the Province estimated by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) for 2021 -the 2020 Census was suspended due to the pandemic-,

since 4.98% of Buenos Aires were vaccinated

.

Of the total number of vaccinated in the province, more than

40%

live in the suburbs: 347,964.

However, there are only

four municipalities

in Greater Buenos Aires that are above the provincial average.

Morón is the first, with 22,982 vaccinated according to the official provincial registry (19,029 with the first dose and 3,953 with the second).

That places the western Buenos Aires Commune -of 318,104 inhabitants- at

7.2% of its population with at least one dose

.

The Province of Buenos Aires already has 883,589 vaccinated, 735,397 with the first dose and 148,192 with both.

Behind it is Hurlingham, the district that was created in 1994 when Morón was divided.

The proportion of vaccinated in that municipality is 6.1, since there are 11,882 residents who passed through the vaccination centers (10,750 with the first and 1,132 with both)

And the one that completes the podium is the other district that until 1994 belonged to Morón, Ituzaingó.

In the municipality that a week ago was visited by President Alberto Fernández and Governor Axel Kicillof, they have already vaccinated 5.9% of the 182,011 residents calculated by the Indec in that Commune.

The fourth and last municipality of the suburbs above the total number of vaccinated in the Province is the only one outside the West.

In Avellaneda, 20,821 doses were applied (16,864 with the first and 3,957 with the second), which gives 5.8% of the residents

With 4.6% of its neighbors vaccinated in the ranking until Thursday, there are two districts of the least populated: San Fernando (8,260 doses, 6,990 of the first and 1,270 with both) and Ezeiza, with 9,259 vaccinated (1,201 with the first dose and 10,460 with both).

On Wednesday the government signed an agreement to receive three million doses of the Sinopharm vaccine next week.

Thus, the Chinese vaccine would become the majority in the country, surpassing the Russian Sputnik V, from which a total of 2,470,000 doses have been received so far.

To date, a total of 4,050,000 doses of vaccines of three different formulas have arrived in the country: Sputnik V, Sinopharm and Covishield, which is the one from the University of Oxford and the AstraZeneca laboratory, manufactured at the Serum Institute from India.

While they expect more vaccines next week, another four municipalities exceed 4% of their vaccinated population.

Lanús reached 20,043 (16,397 the first dose and 3,646 with both), which places it at 4.3%;

behind Tres de Febrero, with 14,760 vaccinated (12,138 with the first and 2,622 with both);

Vicente López with 11,352 vaccinations given (8,705 with the first and 2,647 with both);

and Berazategui, with 15,173 doses applied (13,633 of the first and 1,540 with both).

Six other districts appear above 3% of its vaccinated population.

Esteban Echeverria reaches 3.5% (13,559 vaccinated);

Florencio Varela in the same percentage for his 18,753 vaccinated;

and José C. Paz also appears in the same number with 11,003 people who have already received the vaccine.

Moreno reached 18,288 which places him in 3.3% of his 549,930 vaccinated neighbors;

San Martín, with 13,715 of its 425,911 inhabitants, reaches 3.2%;

and San Isidro reached 3.1% with 9286 vaccinated (7,706 with one dose and 1,580 with both).

Above 2% are some of the most populated municipalities in the suburbs and in the country.

Lomas de Zamora vaccinated 19,357 residents, which means 2.9%;

Almirante Brown, also in the South, added 17,015 vaccinated and reached 2.8%;

the same percentage as Quilmes, with 19,063.

Behind appears Pilar, with 2.7% for her 10,416 vaccinated;

the same percentage as La Matanza, which is where there are more vaccinated, but below 3% of its enormous population, close to 2 million inhabitants.

In the most populated district of the country, 64,613 residents were vaccinated (59,428 with the first dose and 5,185 with both).

Behind is Escobar with 2.59%: just 6,716 vaccinated;

similar to Tigre, where doses were applied to 11,435 of the 470,776 neighbors, 2.42%.

Those that come the furthest behind in all of Greater Buenos Aires are Malvinas Argentinas, San Miguel and Merlo.

Malvinas reached 7,129 vaccinated (5756 with one dose and 1,373 with two), which gives a percentage of the district of just 1.96%.

San Miguel is at the same value, with 7661 vaccinated (6,681 with one dose and only 980 with both);

Merlo, meanwhile, reached 10,679 vaccinated (9,258 with the first dose and 1,421 with both), which means only 1.7% of its 613,509 inhabitants

In these 26 suburban districts, during the first two days of the province's "mass vaccination", only

10,140 vaccines

had been applied 24 days ago

.

With the arrival and distribution of new doses, the rate was increasing and this Thursday the number of doses applied exceeded 26,000, on the average of what was the last week.
