Nizar Qabbani's poems and their modernity in terms of formation and influenced by the ancient in the field of spinning themes covered by the symposium hosted by the Arab Cultural Center in the field with the participation of critics and poets.

The symposium, titled “Nizar Qabbani, a march of giving” and was held within the poetic festival that was launched yesterday in celebration of this great poet, in which Dr. Jamal Abu Samra spoke about the mechanisms of dramatic formation in Nizar Qabbani’s poem “The event as a model,” indicating that Nizar’s poem is characterized by an easy and reluctant event. An event is anything He pushes the components of the story forward towards the climax and the conclusion, taking from the poem “Honor Crime Before the Arab Courts” as an example.

Dr. Jihad Bikaflouni talked about the similarities between Nizar and the Umayyad poet Omar bin Abi Rabi’a in terms of self-esteem, his love for women and his simple and gentle vocabulary, beginning by likening the poet Qabbani to a lawyer who desperately defends his client until he reaches the moment of issuance of the judgment in his favor, so he turns the table and asks to open the case again.

Poet Dr. Nizar Burik Huneidi pointed out that no poet has appeared who has filled the world and occupied people since the days of Al-Mutanabi, such as Nizar Qabbani, in his privacy that is difficult for critics to understand. It stems from his inimitable ability to preserve the personality of the spoiled child, not to emulate it.

The symposium was moderated by Dr. Ratib Sukkar, who spoke in his intervention about Qabbani's poetry in Spain since his first poem “Andalusian Memoirs”, then “Spanish Papers” and “Sorrows in Andalusia” in which he cried over Andalusia, crying over Palestine and lost Arab unity, in addition to the poem of Granada that tells About the poet’s meeting with a Spanish woman on the plane.
