On Saturday evening, a 6-year-old was mown down by a motorist as she was crossing on a protected passage.

According to the first observations, the motorist was driving at high speed.

Saturday at 7.40 p.m. in Aulnay-sous-Bois (Seine-Saint-Denis), route de Mitry, in his mad rush, he could not avoid the little girl who was crossing in the presence of her family on a protected passage.

His relatives are unharmed.

In contrast, the 6-year-old girl did not survive her injuries.

When the help arrived quickly on the spot "the child was already in cardio-respiratory arrest", indicates the captain Fresse of the brigade of the firefighters of Paris (BSPP).

She was transported to Robert-Ballanger Hospital but could not be saved.

The driver and his passenger become prisoners

The driver fled.

But the vehicle could be identified thanks to the video surveillance cameras and the police were able to trace it back to the owner of the car.

When officials reported to his home in Sevran he was absent.

But he and his passenger subsequently went to the police station, where they became prisoners.

They are in their twenties "They were both taken into custody," said the Bobigny prosecutor's office.

The circumstances of the accident could not be clearly established.

Likewise, it is not known whether the motorist was driving in the summer intoxicated at the time of the collision.

"The family in shock could not be heard," adds the prosecution.
