Stade Toulousain won Saturday in Limerick against Munster (33-40), in the round of 16 of the Champions Cup.
The Irish scored four tries (two doubles from Earls and Coombes), but the Reds and Blacks also scored four with Lebel, Marchand and a double from Dupont late in the game.
Toulouse becomes the second French team to win at Thomond Park, after Clermont in 2014 during the group stage.
This is only the 5th defeat at home in the European Cup in Munster (ASM, Ulster and twice Leicester).
In the quarterfinals, the Toulouse will have to travel to Auvergne to challenge Clermont, who won after the suspense against the Wasps (25-27).
