Here is the most precise Tudor watch ever produced (and in ceramic)

2021-05-27T20:43:56.957Z

NEW - Here's a surprise that hits stores right away: a new Black Bay in black ceramic with a double-certified in-house movement, which will never be late.

Why do more when you already have nothing to prove?

This is the question we ask ourselves when we discover the latest watchmaking surprise from Tudor, one of the successful watch brands of the moment.

It must be said that its production site in Le Locle (Kenissi, shared with Chanel Horlogerie) was undoubtedly the best place to refine this new Black Bay Ceramic in great secrecy.

Its totally black look, from the case to the movement, should appeal to the brand's favorite rugby team.

But it also reminds watch enthusiasts of a unique piece awarded for a good cause at the last Onlywatch sale in 2019. A piece which had then been sold for the trifle of 320,000 euros.

Rest assured, this one is offered at "only" 4400 euros, with two straps, in fabric and leather lined with rubber, with the "Snowflake" pattern on the inside. Tudor remains faithful to giving more for less expensive than others (which we will not cite out of leniency). After having unsheathed a few astonishing versions with a gold or silver case of its Black Bay 58, Tudor is therefore continuing its introduction with a new creation that surprises and detonates. First, and this is immediately visible, by the use of matt black monobloc ceramic for its case and the rotating bezel disc with engraved graduation. But also by its new Manufacture caliber MT5602-1U equipped with a non-magnetic silicon balance-spring. A movement displaying hours, minutes and seconds (no date here), with a black perforated and satin-brushed monobloc tungsten rotor.

But its dark finish is not what you see the most.

Surprisingly, while Tudor already offers quality movements certified by the very demanding COSC label, this Black Bay Ceramic is also certified by METAS, the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology.

A new certification that, to be honest, we had never heard of before Omega resorted to it in 2015 to certify its watches, which are therefore doubly certified.

"It is in a logic of constant improvement of the quality level of its products that Tudor has successfully submitted its Black Bay Ceramic model to the Master Chronometer certification test protocol",

explains the brand. with rose.

What interest?

On the one hand, when the COSC controls Swiss Made movements, the Master Chronometer certification controls the entire watch, once the movement has been fitted.

Then, their tests and requirement criteria differ and complement each other.

Thus, the certification by the Swiss Official Control of Chronometers carried out on Chronometer movements accepts a deviation of -4 / +6 seconds per day.

METAS certification does not tolerate any delay, with a standard of 0 / +5 seconds per day, but also 5 seconds less than COSC.

Its accuracy is tested at two temperatures, in six positions and at two winding levels (or power reserve), 100% and 33%.

In these times of the omnipresence of magnets in our daily lives, these watches are also subjected to magnetic fields of 15,000 gauss, a level that none of us will ever encounter.

This watch with a moderate diameter of 41 mm is also certified waterproof to 200 meters, and its 70-hour autonomy is also certified.

In the end, that's what to do with this new Black Bay Ceramic, available in stores the same day it is announced, the best performing watch of the brand to date, but also one of the deals of the moment for lovers of a beautiful, reliable watch, at a price well below other ceramic models with such double certification.

A piece that will never be late, incidentally, which is basically the least of courtesies, for a timepiece ...
