New plans for town hall redevelopment

There is additional expenditure on the one hand and savings on the other hand in the renovation of the Jesenwang town hall.

While the storage facility is now to be plastered in order to be able to use it as a warehouse, the access area is being designed a bit simpler than planned.

Jesenwang - Originally an entrance with a vestibule and thus with two doors was planned in the planning.

After further consideration, planner Eva Magotsch refrained from doing this.

“The vestibule is too small,” she justified at the latest meeting of the municipal council.

With an outer and an inner door there would hardly be room for wheelchair users.

For this reason, when the electric door opener is operated, both doors should open at the same time so that wheelchair users can immediately enter the interior.

"When both doors are open, however, we no longer have a vestibule effect," explained Magotsch.

She therefore suggested that the outer door should be omitted and only a covered passage should be implemented.

The fact that only one door is now required also has an impact on costs.

The exact design of the entrance doors has not yet been decided.

In a sample offer that Magotsch submitted, however, 14,100 euros are charged - for one door.

In the case of the original vestibule solution, that's double the amount.

The members of the parish council therefore unanimously voted in favor of the one-door solution.

On the other hand, the construction works are a little more expensive because the gables in the attic are now to be plastered.

The rooms are intended as storage and should be brought into a tidy condition.

Magotsch put the costs at 11,000 to 12,000 euros - including the knee stick, if cleaning work is necessary there.

And last but not least, a long overdue measure has to be carried out with the drywall work: dry screed should have been installed in the attic as early as 1988.

But this was probably neglected, said the planner.

And some wall and ceiling elements also need to be improved in terms of fire protection.

Magotsch did not submit a cost estimate for this, but the local council unanimously approved the necessary work.
