A number of charities in Al-Hasakah governorate launched a civil initiative to run an additional group of water tankers in the streets of Al-Hasakah city neighborhoods to secure drinking water for the people in light of the continuing crime of cutting water and stopping the Allouk water station by the Turkish occupier.
Head of the Follow-up Committee for Water Supply in Al-Hasakah Governorate, member of the competent executive office, Hassan Al-Shamhoud, said in a statement to SANA reporter that within the framework of the government’s efforts and in cooperation with a number of charitable societies, a number of additional tanks were operated today within the city of Al-Hasakah to distribute water directly to the people, especially in the areas Where there are no water tanks scattered in the streets.
Al-Shahmoud pointed out that the initiative of charities is in addition to the initiative launched yesterday, through which 19 water tankers were operated in cooperation with the organizations of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the United Nations Children’s Fund “UNICEF” and some government service agencies to fill the tanks scattered throughout. The city and the surrounding neighborhoods, in addition to providing water directly to the people in areas where there are no reservoirs.
Al-Shahmoud pointed out that all the efforts made are working to provide the citizens' need of drinking water in light of the continued cutting of water and the suspension of the Allouk station feeding the city of Hasaka as a result of the practices of the Turkish occupier, stressing that the initiatives will continue until the Allouk water station is restarted again and the water pumping to the residents is stabilized.
