Aunt Zhan Xiaohui (60 years old at the time of the incident) intended to cause serious physical harm to them.

The defendant's elder brother Wei Jingdong appeared in court to testify. On the day of the incident, he attended the lunch gathering between the four uncles and the defendant and followed them to Quarry Bay Park.
Before the shooting incident, he heard that the fourth uncle had asked the defendant about the family agreement concerning the division of the inheritance. The fourth uncle asked her: "Just so, the decision has not been made." The defendant said that he would consider it again.
After a while, he heard the screams, and then looked at the position of the two uncles, and saw the defendant raised the gun and shot a short distance at the back of the fourth uncle. After shooting at the second uncle, the defendant once looked at him with a gun and pointed at him. Moving a few steps in his direction, he felt very scared at the time and immediately fled in the opposite direction.
Wei Jingdong, the elder brother, claimed that his sister, the defendant Zhan Xinjie, had also pointed a gun at him, and he walked in the opposite direction to avoid the catastrophe.

Under cross-examination by the defense, Wei revealed that his mother was mentally ill and would have hallucinations and auditory hallucinations, but her mother was reluctant to admit that she had mental problems.
He also revealed that when he was in college, the defendant had failed to enroll in a two-year course due to depression and anxiety problems, and ultimately did not enroll in college.
The defendant changed his name to his mother's surname after arriving in Hong Kong
When Wei was cross-examined by the defense, he admitted that the defendant had a close relationship with his mother, so he changed his mother's surname after coming to Hong Kong, but Wei forgot whether the defendant had changed his name because of his mother.
Wei believes that although the defendant has more negative thoughts, it is not world-weary. After coming to Hong Kong, he also wanted to improve his environment. He admitted that after his father passed away, the defendant and his mother were like "depending on each other for life" and often stayed with their mother.
Wei Xu pointed out that after the death of his father, his mother was also diagnosed with dementia. In 2013, his uncle proposed to send his mother to a nursing home, but the mother's physical condition was deteriorating.
Wei agreed with the defense to point out that although the defendant had wanted to improve the home environment so that his mother could enjoy her old age at home, he could not afford the expenses and regretted it.
