Overall, all political parties are in favor, even if among the respondents, it is the voters close to En Marche who are the most numerous to demand this referendum, up to 90%.
A bill had been launched at the beginning of April, carried by the deputy Olivier Falorni of the Freedom and Territories group.
However, it had not succeeded because of the too many amendments tabled.
About 300 deputies from all political stripes called on Prime Minister Jean Castex at the beginning of May to include this bill on the menu. The initiative was supported by several ministers: Marlène Schiappa, Emmanuelle Wargon, Olivier Dussopt and Agnès Pannier-Runacher. Last Monday, the Socialist Party revived the debate by launching a campaign to revive this bill, entitled "
Freedom to the end
