The president of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), Antonia Urrejola, said that the wave of arrests of presidential candidates in Nicaragua "almost looks like a caricature."
Urrejola stressed that anyone who publicly announces his intention to participate in the electoral process on November 7 is arrested or placed under judicial investigation.
