A young man, who in a Facebook video identified himself as a member of one of the families "who are in power in Cuba," called on Wednesday to lay down his arms on the island and begin a process of transition to democracy.
His message has gone viral and was picked up by various international media in recent days.
CNN has not been able to independently verify his identity, or his relationship to the families he mentions.
